On the map, Yeouido looks like a sweet potato (goguma) lying in the Han River. Run once around the edge of the island and the drawing is done. Its original name is "Snoopy and Shiro's Sweet Potato Course".
You start at Yeouido Hangang Park on the north side of the island, near Mapo Bridge. Keep the Han River on your right and head west, round the tip of the island, come back along the Saetgang stream on the south side and return to the start. Start and finish are exactly the same point.
How the drawing works
North edge — The Yeouido Hangang Park path along the river, with Han River views. This is the potato's rounded back.
West end — The wide curve around the western tip is the blunt end of the potato.
South edge — Run east along the Saetgang side. The shape narrows as you go east — the pointy end of the potato.
Before you run
About 8.2 km (5.1 mi) and almost completely flat. Great for a first GPS art run or an 8K PB.
Yeouido is extremely crowded during the spring cherry blossom season and the fireworks festival. Go early on those days.
The Hangang Park path runs next to a bike lane. Stay in the pedestrian and running lanes.

With GPS art, the highlight is the moment the drawing is complete. Just before the finish the camera pulls back to show the whole finished picture.
Add a text like "Yeouido Sweet Potato Run 🍠" to make it even more fun.
The route drawing and sample run (time, pace, heart rate) are examples generated from the map route. Before running it for real, check local conditions such as traffic lights, construction and closures.
