How to Export GPX & FIT Files from Garmin
Last updated: 2026-09-11
Getting your activities off a Garmin watch is easy — the web version of Garmin Connect is the most reliable way.
1. Garmin Connect on the web (recommended)
- Sign in at connect.garmin.com.
- Go to Activities → All Activities and open the one you want.
- Click the gear (⚙) icon at the top right.
- Choose "Export to GPX" or "Export Original".
Which one? "Export Original" gives you the FIT file (zipped) with everything: heart rate, cadence, power, vertical oscillation, ground contact time. Unzip it and use the .fit inside. GPX is more compatible but drops some sensor data. racereplay.win reads both — FIT unlocks more metrics.
2. Garmin Connect mobile app
- Open the activity and tap ⋯ (more) at the top right.
- Choose "Export to GPX" — the share sheet appears.
- Pick "Save to Files" and upload it from your phone's browser.
3. Straight from the watch over USB
Plug the watch into a computer and look in GARMIN/Activity — every activity is there as a .fit file. No account needed.
Got your file? Time to show it off.
Upload it to racereplay.win and get a race replay video and share cards right in your browser. Free, no sign-up.
