Turn Your GPS Recording into an Instagram Race Video
Last updated: 2026-09-11
Stop posting screenshots of your runs. With just a GPX or FIT file you can make a race replay video for Reels and Shorts — no editing software, right in your browser.
1. Get your recording file
Export a GPX or FIT file from your watch or app: see the Garmin guide or the Strava guide.
2. Upload and set up the race
- Open the racereplay.win app and drag your files onto the map (multiple files welcome).
- Solo run? One file is enough. Racing a friend? Add their file too. Racing your past self? Add an older recording of the same course — everyone starts together.
- Add runner photos via each track's ⚙ — they appear in the video's lineup intro.
3. Record the video
- Click Race Video in the left panel.
- Pick a format: 9:16 for Reels/Shorts, 4:5 for feed posts.
- Choose the map (2D or 3D buildings) and camera (follow, leader close-up, orbit), then hit Preview.
- Record produces an mp4 with countdown, live leaderboard, splits and the finish ranking.
- On your phone, Share sends it straight to Instagram; on desktop it saves as a file. Copy Caption gives you ready-made hashtags.
One recording is plenty: switch the camera to "Orbit" with the 3D buildings map for a cinematic city flyover. Got real footage of your run? The Video Overlay tool burns your route and live stats onto your own video.
Worried about privacy?
Your files never leave your browser — parsing, rendering and recording all happen locally, and everything disappears when you close the tab.
Got your file? Time to show it off.
Upload it to racereplay.win and get a race replay video and share cards right in your browser. Free, no sign-up.
